Pantone Colors of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz & Serenity, Celebrated by Shahida Parides

Pantone unveiled its latest Colors of the Year for 2016! This upcoming year’s colors are Rose Quartz and Serenity.

This is a special event, since it marks the first time Pantone has declared two colors together as colors of the year. Pantone states multiple reasons for this. According to their official release, The colors together create a soothing and calming effect which reference modern day stresses and how consumers are pursuing mindfulness and well-being to escape from them.

The colors also represent duality, and the blurring of societal gender roles. As we move closer towards gender equality and witness the breaking of traditional gender stereotypes. This is especially seen in the fashion industry as colors and styles have become fluid among genders.
